Don’t Forget Your Miracles
Sometimes when we’re in the midst of a storm, we have a tendency to forget the miracles we’ve already seen the Lord perform in our lives. For instance, we all experienced the miracle of salvation, so we KNOW what God CAN do, because we experienced such an awesome change In our own hearts and lives. As Psalm 98:1 says, we learned to Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. But when we found ourselves in a difficult time, so often just a time of testing, did we keep singing that new song or did we revert to the old song? Did we remember what Psalm 68:19
says, which is Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.? And do we trust what Psalm 68:35 says, which is You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!? Or are we more like the Israelites, who the Lord let wander in the desert for forty years because of their murmuring and complaining, and lack of faith?
There’s a very important principle of marriage restoration in The Parable of the Talents, because if we don’t use the miracle of our own salvation to glorify the Lord despite our whole world being turned upside-down, we’re just as unlikely to glorify the Lord if He restores our marriages and saves our husbands. So there’s no reason to expect Him to restore our marriages or save our husbands when EVERYTHING He does is for HIS praise and glory.
If you’re unable to relate to the experience of salvation as an AWESOME miracle, then perhaps you should revisit the question of whether or not you’re saved. If you don’t experience the fruit of salvation in your spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22-23, which says But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law., perhaps you should read The Foundation For Restoration.
Remembering the miracle of our own salvation helps give us the faith needed to believe and put our confidence in these awesome and powerful verses from Romans 4:
16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.
20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Never forget that God gives life to the things that are dead and calls things that are not as though they were, so that you will be strengthened in your faith and give glory to God, being FULLY persuaded that God has the power to do ALL that He promises, which includes the restoration of your marriage and the salvation of your husband…ALL FOR HIS PRAISE AND GLORY!
