Confirming the Importance of Believing God
Regular visitors to the site know how excited I tend to get about God’s amazing faithfulness to confirm the messages He wants to get across to us, so I couldn’t resist sharing the following example of that posted yesterday on the ladies’ private website by one of the FAM Fellowship members! And Amy’s not the only one who has mentioned that they continue to hear messages about the importance of believing God and putting our faith in Him! And since that’s a message it’s not possible to get too much of as we stand against the gates of hell and the world for the restoration of our marriages, I appreciate Amy’s permission to share her message from yesterday, especially since it’s so good to see our members ministering to each other this way! In addition, I’m including the Psalms she refers to, so be blessed and encouraged as you read them and meditate on them, along with the following verses:
Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Romans 8:28-31
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Proverbs 21:30-31
There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
Isaiah 46:11
From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.
Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
“This entire past week, not only have we been stressing and trying to focus more on the importance of Praise and thanksgiving, but also on belief. Belief that this victory is won. Belief that all of our prayers have ALREADY been answered.
Last night I was reading in Psalms 20 and 21, and I spent about 30 minutes studying. Then this morning at church, my pastor preached a message right from Psalms 20 and 21! Her entire message was about believing God. As she preached, I knew that this was not only confirmation for me, but for all of us as well. How amazing it is that just last night I was led to those exact Psalms and today, God expanded on them for me. My pastor also had us look back to 2 Samuel 10 to see what David was in the midst of when he wrote those Psalms. So today I encourage everyone to take a look at these two Psalms and allow God to speak to you as He did me last night and this morning. This message was meant for all of us!
And to take it a step further, I want to urge everyone again not to beg for restoration, but to BELIEVE it’s yours! God has heard your prayers; He knows the desires of your hearts. So today, praise God because He HAS answered your prayers! Last night as I was praying, I felt led to claim victory over Satan. And buddy, I did! Claim your victory, ladies and gentlemen! Satan has already been defeated! He is a liar! Don’t allow him to have any power over you or your marriage. Claim your victory! Know that this battle has already been won. Look ONLY at the work of God’s hand. I have even stopped paying attention to anything Satan tries to throw out there. He doesn’t deserve my time or attention…but God does. Lets not waste anymore time dwelling on what Satan has done. He’s over; he’s done; he can’t have you! Today I choose to believe my God! Join me.
Amy”
Psalm 20
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!
Psalm 21
O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give! You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
You welcomed him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—length of days, for ever and ever.
Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the LORD; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.
Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes. At the time of your appearing you will make them like a fiery furnace. In his wrath the LORD will swallow them up, and his fire will consume them. You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind. Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed; for you will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow. Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.
Hallelujah Amy! Thanks for that message. It certainly encouraged me.
response by Melissa
God gave me Psalm 20 the week-end my husband came to me and told me he was going to file for divorce the following week. I prayed and fasted that week-end and my husband changed his mind. It has been almost a year since then and he isn’t home yet but he never did file for divorce.
Thanks for sharing that testimony, Melissa. Not only does it show how God uses His Word to speak to us in times of need, but it also speaks to the power of prayer and fasting!
