Giving Jesus the Praise and Glory He Deserves
Unfortunately, it’s way too easy to get so “busy” and caught up living life that we forget to devote the time and effort we should to praising and giving the appropriate honor and glory so richly deserved by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. And that’s a real problem, especially to God.
We probably all remember times when we made vows and promises to the Lord when we needed His help and provision in desperate situations; but did we remember those promises and vows once He delivered us? Or did we forget and fail to share our praise with others to give Him the appropriate praise and honor He deserves? God EXPECTS nothing less than our total adoration and praise for his honor and glory, so we can’t afford to forget to praise Him as we see in Psalm 66 and Psalm 72.
It’s very important for us to understand that our failure to give the Lord appropriate praise and honor in the midst of our circumstances can actually prevent or delay the restoration of our marriages, as indicated in 1 Peter 1:6-9, which says In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
As with so many other Bible verses, these verses demonstrate how important genuine faith is to God and how necessary it is for the realization of everything we’re standing for. So when the Lord brings us through the trials we deal with as we stand for the restoration of our marriages, He doesn’t want us to forget and He expects us to share it with others, which is the reason we use a website like this in our ministry. Remembering and sharing all that the Lord does for us is so important, because it helps strengthen our faith, and encourages others, as well as accessing the authority of Christ and overcoming the power of Satan as revealed in Revelation 12:9-12
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
From the very beginning of time, God planned EVERYTHING for the ultimate praise and glory of Jesus Christ, as we see again in Ephesians 1:4-12, which says For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.
That is the purpose for our existence and the purpose for everything we go through, so it’s VERY important for us to understand that and release the supernatural power found only in praising and giving glory to Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
As we can expect with every promise from God, Revelation 5:11-13 shows us how His awesome plan to reveal the glory of Jesus Christ will ultimately be fulfilled; it says Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
So let’s not lose out on anything the Lord wants to bless us with because of our own failure to give Jesus every bit of praise, honor and glory He so richly deserves! There’s ALWAYS something to praise the Lord for! And when we do, we will most absolutely be blessed and encouraged!
